"Moving Forward United"

Happy New Year!! I hope you are all off to a fantastic start of the new year. 2017 is certainly going to be a year of changes, adjustments, challenges, confrontations, and hopefully progress. I would like to offer my two cents as we begin this new year:

1) One thing that is absolutely certain, is that for us to progress we must keep moving forward.

2) The second thing, that is just as true, is that we will accomplish more and be able serve better, when we do it together.

My hope and confidence today is firmly rooted in the resilience and pliancy of youth. As we to them for the hope of change, they look to us to provide them with the tools and resources they need to become the best they can be. Regardless of our challenges, limitations, privileges, and access to power we ALL have something to contribute to their story. We ALL have a responsibility to bear, and willing or unwilling we ALL play a part in building what can be a platform or stumbling block to the youth of today.

Haverhill is on the move, and we can build a better city and develop stronger opportunities, and we should continue to do those things. However, our city can never be great until our education system is great. There have been many improvements over the years and some feel like things are getting "better". I believe we can do better, than better! I believe we can can have excellent schools. I believe that we can produce critical thinkers who are prepared for life after the classroom. I believe the only way for us to move forward, is to move forward together. For this reason I am happy to announce that I will be running for a school committee seat in the November 2017 local election. I am willing to step up for the sake of our youth. Will you join me?
